Cross-Cultural Couples & Family Therapist in Rockville, Maryland

Connecting  families through languages, emotions, and cultures.

When love crosses borders — between cultures, faiths, generations, or first languages — the breakdowns don’t always look like fights. Sometimes they look like silence at dinner. A child who won’t go to school. A marriage that has become a logistics meeting. I help couples and families find each other again.

WHO I WORK WITH

Does this sound like you?

Couples who love each other but can’t reach each other anymore

Long marriages where the spark faded. New marriages where the differences are bigger than expected. Couples after an affair, after a loss, or just after years of running on empty. Couples who came from different countries, different faiths, or different first languages — and now wonder if they were ever speaking the same emotional language at all.

Families with kids who are struggling — or kids who are struggling with you

Parents and teens stuck in painful loops. Children refusing school, shutting down, or carrying anxiety bigger than they should have to. Blended families trying to integrate two histories into one home. Co-parents who can’t agree on rules and have watched the kids learn to play them against each other.

Immigrant and cross-cultural families holding two worlds inside one home

Adult children of immigrants navigating relationships with parents across language, culture, and unspoken obligation. Russian-speaking individuals and couples wanting therapy that doesn’t require translating your culture first. Families raising children between identities, trying to honor where they came from and where they are now.

About Me

Why Choose Inna?

I live what I treat. I’m an immigrant. I’m in a cross-cultural marriage. I’m raising a blended family of five. I know what it feels like when “I love you” doesn’t translate the same way twice.

But lived experience is only half of it. I bring evidence-based tools:

  • Imago Relationship Therapy — for couples who’ve stopped hearing each other

  • EMDR — for older wounds your nervous system hasn’t been able to file away

  • Polyvagal-informed, somatic, and family-systems work — so the work reaches the body and the patterns, not just the talking part

One more thing most therapists don’t offer: a personalized follow-up email after every session — what we explored, what you committed to, what’s next. The work doesn’t stop when you walk out the door.
